METAvivor is the name
The big reason why METAvivor, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing metastatic breast cancer awareness, puts some much larger breast cancer non-profits to shame, is that according to them, 100% of every donation and 100% of proceeds from every fundraiser (after event expenses) goes into research grants. Now that is very refreshing for promoting awareness for a very deadly form of breast cancer called metastatic breast cancer.
Seriously, what is metastatic breast cancer?

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, metastatic breast cancer, which is also classified as Stage 4 breast cancer, is cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, which usually includes the lungs, liver, bones or brain. There is no cure for metastatic breast cancer.
Why metastatic breast cancer is a bleeping big deal
Yes metastatic breast cancer is a freaking big deal, because once diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, a patient’s average lifespan is 33 months. 20% of patients will live 5 years, 10% will live 10. Those may not be great odds, but there is hope and there are many inspirational stories of many metastatic breast cancer survivors who have gone into remission and are living a happy life.
