With cancer, he thought his college football career was over – till the city reached out

You cannot dampen this college football player’s spirits.

Running Back James Conner of the University of Pittsburgh Panthers, knew he faced a tougher battle than moving defensive linemen and getting some hard fought yards, when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Even though he had to go through over a dozen chemotherapy treatments, he was always humble and he gave other cancer patients hope and inspiration, knowing that though he may be a celebrity in his community, but with cancer, he knew we are all in one team fighting hard to defeat the evil opponent called cancer.

James Conner said: “I love helping others and stuff, so this is a great opportunity for me to give hope.” Now that is a young man with a good head on his shoulders and he is sure to be successful in life football or not.
