34-year old Canadian actress and “Mean Girls” star Rachel McAdams has reportedly split from her “Midnight in Paris” costar, 44-year old British actor Michael Sheen after two years.
Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen emerged as a couple in October 2010 while filming the Woody Allen romantic comedy “Midnight in Paris.” Regarding how they met, Rachel Adams said: “We became quite good friends [on set], which I think is a great way to start. I felt very blessed to have made a Woody Allen film in Paris together.”
No reason has yet been cited behind the apparent break up. McAdams said prior to their reported split that they tried their best to manage the long-distance aspect of the relationship.
Rachel McAdams lives in Toronto, Canada, while Michael Sheen divides his time between his native Wales and Los Angeles, and in an interview with UK magazine, said: “Michael and I never spend more than three weeks apart — we rack up a lot of air miles — but you have to be quite adaptable in this business whether you are in a relationship or not. Trying to establish roots somewhere is a bit of a joke.”
Rachel McAdams last serious relationship prior to Sheen was with her Notebook costar Ryan Gosling. The two began dating in 2005 and were briefly engaged, but called it off in 2007. Sheen had an eight-year relationship with actress Kate Beckinsale from 1995 until 2003; the two share daughter Lily, 14.
