Obesity Rates Will Become Global and Rapidly Increase by 2025

Over one in eight adults are now obese — a ratio that has more than doubled since 1975 and will swell to one in five by 2025, a major survey reported Friday.

Of about five billion adults alive in 2014, 641 million were obese, the data showed — and projected the number will balloon past 1.1 billion in just nine years.

Anxiety Drugs Overdoses in the United States rise, According to a New Study

More Americans than ever are overdosing on anxiety drugs, researchers reported Thursday — and it’s not clear why.

The new study finds not only that more Americans are taking the drugs, which include brand names such as Valium and Xanax, but that they’re taking more of them.

FDA Approves New Hepatitis C Pill

The Food and Drug Administration announced that it had approved Merck’s Zepatier, a once-daily tablet that combines elbasvir and grazoprevir for the treatment of genotypes 1 and 4. Genotype 1 is the most common form of HCV and represents about 70% of all diagnosed cases. In the 12- and 16-week clinical studies that led up to the approval of Zepatier, it demonstrated sustained positive responses with and without a ribavirin of between 94% and 97% in genotype 1 patients and 97% to 100% in genotype 4 patients.

HPV Increases Risk to Head, Neck, Throat Cancer

A new study suggested that oral sex increases one’s risk to developing throat, head and neck cancer. HPV-16 is popular in causing head and neck cancers, which include oropharyngeal cancers — cancers of the middle part of the throat including the soft palate, the base of the tongue and tonsillitis.

There has been a big drop in women having children in there early twenties. The decrease of teen mom’s has help the age of women giving birth in the early adulthood state. We can also tribute these finding to legalized abortions. Women are finding more importance in education and having a career before having children. The older women give birth the more complications can occur during pregnancy.
