The health and environmental hazard posed by the 5 weeks of oil spill has devastated the Gulf region. Now BP intends on using the top kill to finally stop the oil leaks.

What exactly is top kill?

A “top kill” procedure is basically a way in which heavy drilling mud is pumped into the oil well to block the flow of oil. However, company officials have given the operation a 60 to 70 percent chance of success. They say the entire procedure could take up to two days.
