30-year old Beyonce, showing her post-baby body, wore a Givenchy Haute Couture gown to the 2012 Met Gala at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit Monday night.

Beyonce Knowles stood out as one of the best dressed at the Met Gala in a black lace Givenchy Couture gown with a purple train of feathers. The bodice of the dress was ornamented with sparkling black embroidery to elegantly cover her body a bit.

However, little was left to the imagination as the sheer fabric hugged each and every curve of the diva. Beyonce proved that dramatic is nothing short of decadent. She stunned on the red carpet causing an internet buzz.

42-year old singer-songwriter and fashion designer Gwen Stefani wore a mesh peplum jumpsuit dress at the world premiere of Paul McCartney‘s “My Valentine” music video on Friday (April 13) in West Hollywood, California.

Gwen Stefani was one of many in attendance at the event which was hosted by Paul McCartney and his daughter, designer Stella McCartney.

She wore her hair in a topknot, with bold red liptick and black Christian Louboutin “Pigalle” pumps.

New York Fashion week displayed so many wearable trends for Spring & Fall.  However, the color block style works for all sizes and shapes. This trend is one of the most sought after looks this year and everyone loves. You will find it in dresses, shoes, purses and even swimsuits.

If you are not quite ready to dive headfirst into this trend, you can go forth lightly in a subtle dress with only two colors. Just throw on a jacket during the day while in the office and remove it when you are heading out for happy hour.

On Monday, Rachel Roy debuted  her line that was sexy, feminine and classic. Utilizing tweeds and leather fabrics in rich greens and purples, this collection was about balance and opposites.

Tuesday, Tory Burch was nothing but lady-like showcasing embroidered tulle and chiffon in emerald green and plaids. Her collection screamed unique simplicity.

On Wednesday, Michael Kors’ line can be described as sporty American chic. With shades of grey, red tan and black in tartan prints and cashmere, this line is a classic.

Fall 2012 Fashion Week began with femininity, frocks and modern vintage styles women will fall in love with.

BCBG Max Azria collection included the ever popular colorblocking trend with simple geometric shapes.  Dresses in airy fabrics and skirts with complicated pleats; this collection screamed sophistication and confidence.

Tadashi Shoji made a return to old time glamour in luxurious fabrics, floral patterns and bold colors.  This collection represented the essence of a woman with floor sweeping gowns  shoulder-baring dresses and form-fitting ensembles.

These 2 designers celebrated womanhood with their romantic styles and jewel tone touches.  Fashion Week, day 1 is off to a beautiful start.

 

New York Fashion Week 2012 has arrived and will host a bevy of cutting-edge styles, innovative designers and fashion shows hyped up on hip-hop, rock and roll and neo-soul.  The New York Fall 2012 collections will be shown Thursday, February 9 through Thursday, February 16, 2012 and will be immediately followed-up by Fashion Weeks in London, Milan and Paris.

There will be about 90 + designers showcasing their latest fashions to include Alice + Olivia, Tory Burch, Erin Fetherston, Miu Miu, Proenza Schuler, Valentino and Jason Wu (who currently has a modified line in Target as we speak!)  Navy will be the primary color making a statement while black will be pushed aside although not completely gone.

Bold patterns and colors will also be quite prevalent.  Expect to see a return to femininity with inspiration from the 20’s, opulent fabrics and curve-defining jackets.

The Spring & Fall collections are sure to have something for every type of woman.  The selections are sure to appeal to all.

Wearing a white blazer can sometimes be tricky. You want the pieces to be separate enough so that you do not look as if you are a hospital employee. However, you also want to create a pulled together look. Luckily, those of us who live in warm climates year round do not have to stick to the old “no white after Labor Day” style law and can rock white even in January. Here are three different ways to wear a white blazer.

For the simple look, pair a white blazer with a black tank top and black slacks. You will have a classic and sophisticated look, which can also be altered with jewelry.

For a casual and relaxed look, pair a white blazer with black shorts and white tee. This is perfect for a Sunday brunch with the girls or movie date with your guy. If heels do not fit into your regular wardrobe, black ballet flats can also pull this together.

When heading to work, try a white blazer over a printed dress. This look is polished and business-like. This will be perfect with or without a belt.

With each year, a new color is born. The color designated for 2012 is tangerine. You will start to see this hue show up in fashion, film, décor and possibly even kitchen gadget items (it’s actually Rachel Ray’s signature color for her pot handles).

Tangerine can be a tricky color to pull off, but in the right hue it can be very flattering. Try different wardrobe items to see what will look good on you. Be daring and throw a splash of this color on one day and it may energize or at least put you in a good mood!

If you want to move into color at full speed, try a tangerine dress for night like this one-shoulder version. It’s attention-getting and vibrant.

To ease into this color, play it safe with a silk blouse. Pair with beige or black trousers slacks and this color will perk up the dullest day.

If you can’t fathom the idea of so much color, try carrying a tangerine handbag. It’s classy and hip.
