According to AP, Sophia is the new most popular baby name for girls, while Jacob is the top name for boys for the 13th straight year in a new list of popular baby names heavily influenced by religion and reality TV.

In a list released Monday by the Social Security Administration, Isabella, which had been the top girl’s name for two years, dropped to second place in 2011, and Emma, Olivia and Ava rounded out the top five.

According to the report, Mason jumped 10 spots to become the second most popular name for newborn boys last year, knocking Michael out of the top five for the first time in 63 years. Kourtney Kardashian, the reality TV star, gave birth to Mason in December 2009 following a heavily publicized pregnancy, and her relation to her more famous sister Kim Kardashian.

Rounding out the top five for boys were William, Jayden and Noah. Michael came in sixth, his lowest ranking since 1948.

26-year old Jamie Lynne Grumet who posed for the cover of Time Magazine nursing her 3-year-old son, has thrown the debate of breastfeeding and attachment parenting to the forefront.

Besides the shock factor the photo portrays, the question is the Time Magazine cover photo too controversial?

On NBC’s “Today” Show on Friday with her 3-year old son Aram, following the Thursday release of the controversial cover, Jamie Lynne Grumet said: “We knew exactly what we were going to get in to. I do understand why Time chose this picture because…it did create such a media craze to get the dialogue talking.”

The Time Magazine cover photo shows Jamie Lynne Grumet wearing skinny jeans and a tank top while Aram, standing on a wooden chair, is latched on to her left breast. Both are looking at the camera, Aram quizzically, Grumet defiantly. The headline reads “Are You Mom Enough?”

Regarding the uproar over the cover photos by some breastfeeding advocates, Jamie Lynne Grumet further added: “I understand some of the breastfeeding advocates are actually upset about this, but this isn’t how we breastfeed at home. It’s more of a cradling, nurturing situation.”

The controversial photos have brought about the controversial so-called attachment parenting. In a nutshell, attachment parenting is about forming and nurturing strong connections between parents and their children.

Dr. William Sears, the author of “The Baby Book” and the authority on attachment parenting, said: “I’ve never yet seen an attachment parented baby who’s become a school bully… If you were on an island, and you had no mother-in-laws, no psychologists, no doctors around, no experts, this is what you would naturally and instinctively do to give your baby the best investment you’ll ever give.”

Photographer Martin Schoeller also took pictures of four other mothers breastfeeding their older children, but none of those photos, which Time posted online, had a controversial response from the public.

Some think that Jamie Lynne Grumet’s breastfeeding photo sexualize breastfeeding, and others felt the photos were perverted.

The funny thing is that it is mostly in the Westernized world that breastfeeding is sexualized. In many developing countries, breastfeeding is very open, and sexualization doesn’t come into the picture. So in that case I support Jamie Lynne Grumet, since Americans have come to sexualized breasts to the point that is not for its natural intended purpose, which is breastfeeding. I say to those who are against the photo to get a grip. What she is doing is only natural.

31-year old Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio welcomed her second child on Monday May 7, 2012 in Florianopolis, Brazil . She and her fiancé, Jamie Mazur, welcomed a baby boy that they named Noah Phoenix Ambrosio Mazur.

This is her child with fiance Eric Johnson, and signaled the end of the nine-month baby watch that has predictably captivated the entertainment and gossip industry.

Maxwell Drew Johnson weighed in at 9 pounds, 13 ounces, and measured 21¾ inches, according to the announcement on Simpson’s official website, which pronounced the couple as proud parents of a baby girl.

According to InTouch magazine, which leaked the then-unconfirmed name in March, the baby girl will be called Maxi for short.

Regarding pregnancy and the effects on her body, Molly Sims said: “I love from my chest up. You find a cottage-like cheese layer on different parts of your body including your calves.”

This will be her first child with husband Scott Stuber. As for her baby’s name, she said: “We got it narrowed down to about 12 names.”

Bristol Palin also told TMZ that: “He owes her $38,500 in unpaid child support. He’s seen Tripp twice in the past four months.” Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston broke up in August 2010.

45-year old Halle Berry, her fiancé Olivier Martinez and her daughter Nahla soaked up the sun at a Malibu, California beach on Saturday.

According to TMZ, Halle Berry is still fighting baby daddy Gabriel Aubry in court for the right to move to Paris with Nahla.

Halle Berry has been dating 46-year old French actor Olivier Martinez since 2010, and they confirmed their engagement in March 2012.

57-year old Bruce Willis wife, 33-year old Emma Willis gave birth to baby daughter Mabel Ray Willis on Sunday in Los Angeles. She weighed 9 lbs. and 1 oz.

A statement Monday from Willis’ publicist said the couple are “overjoyed,” and both mom and baby are “healthy and doing beautifully.”

This is the couple’s first child together, and Willis and designer-model Emma Heming got married in 2009.

Willis has three daughters, 23-year-old Rumer, 20-year-old Scout and 18-year-old Tallulah, from his previous marriage to actress Demi Moore.

According to reports, 38-year old Tori Spelling is pregnant again, just five months after giving birth to her third child.

She revealed on her personal website Friday: “Dean, Liam, Stella, Hattie, and I are beyond thrilled to announce that another little McDermott is on the way!”

That will be Tori Spelling’s fourth child with her 45-year old husband Dean McDermott. They have three children together, Liam, 5, Stella, 3 and baby Hattie, just five months old. McDermott also has a son from a previous marriage.

Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott got married in may 2006, the second marriage for both Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott.
