As usual, the the hospital itself isn't bad. The rooms are adequate, and they do use quality medical equipment. The potential for quality care is definitely there. The problem however, is the doctors, who seem not to be totally concerned about your situation. The nurses however, are much nicer and friendly.

My older dad went there for emergency surgery and I was impressed by the attending surgeon. The surgeon explained the procedure in detail and gave us all the options, as well as the likely prognosis. I was happy with my dad been at Halifax Hospital. Great nurses and staff. He was well taken care of.

Worst services I have ever experienced. Over 4 hours in the emergency room, plus poorly trained front office staff. It is run like a third world hospital. I would not recommend this hospital to anybody.

They treated my dad who had a heart attack with speed and the doctors and nurses basically saved his life. I was impressed with their emergency doctors who are highly trained and they communicate with family members in an easy to understand manner.

My stay at UPMC was not necessarily the best, but I was attended pretty much on time (by hospital standards). Doctor was not bad and nursing staff was okay. I did feel like they were trying to rush me out of the hospital before I am fully ready though.

I had to go to the ER at Lenox Hill for some chest pains, and they took me pretty quick and I was impressed with their service and they stabilized me and basically saved my life. Great doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff.
