Well, we all know the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine and the controversy it has stirred on both sides. But I would vaccinate my daughters against HPV, especially with Gardasil. Some people on the right say they fear that the Gardasil vaccine, which blocks four cervical cancer–causing HPV strains, encourages girls to have sex. What do you think? I don't think so.

There has been very many debates on this issue, and my 2 cents is that girls should be vaccinated. It has been documented that HPV increases the risk of cervical cancer. With 11,000 women in the United States diagnosed with cervical cancer and nearly 4,000 died from it in 2007, I would encourage all girls to get vaccinated with Gardasil or any other FDA approved HPV vaccinations.

I hear you. I wouldn't object under any reason. Those on the religious right are delusional if they think that their daughters won't be sexually active way before they think so. Vaccination is not carte blanche to have sex.
