I am extremely pleased that Dr. Richardson was my Ophthalmologist for my cataract surgeries. After consultation, reading and written materials and listening to his CD that clearly explained cataracts and options, I chose the RESTOR IO. The extensive eye exams and discussion with Dr. Richardson made me comfortable and more at ease with the cataract process.I am amazed at my range of vision. Before I had difficulty using the computer, reading and seeing street signs, even with my glasses. I thought the light bulbs were so dim; now they seem more like spotlights. Everything is a brilliant color. I use the internet more because it’s no longer a struggle to see. I’m able to watch TV, read newspapers and books and drive without glasses.

My cataract surgery was wonderful. Before the procedure, I was very scared and worried about surgery. I am relieved now. The procedure was simple, safe, and painless. Dr. Richardson and staff were wonderful.
I want you to know how pleased I am with the results. Also, I want to thank you for your excellent skill, knowledge, and support. I would recommend Dr. Richardson to anyone who is considering cataract surgery. Thank you.

A friend recommended me to the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates. I was very pleased with the staff. They were very professional and courteous. Dr. Richardson is a very good doctor. He is very thorough and professional. My experience with Dr. Richardson and his staff was excellent.
He has been monitoring my eye redness and irritation. He prescribed drops and monitors my situation with monthly checkups. My situation has greatly improved. I think the care I am receiving is wonderful.
I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Richardson. I would recommend him to my family and friends.

I've been going to Dr. Richardson for many, many years, and the reason I'm going is because my father had glaucoma. Unfortunately, he was not using the eye drops, and after a while felt he didn't need him. And unfortunately we didn't realize he wasn't, and he went blind. So I want to get the glaucoma caught early if I should catch it any time.
I'm here because of other problems that could happen with the eyes, also, and I want to make sure that nothing else happens or it's caught early if it does happen. I've been very happy with the people here. They're very pleasant, they're very kind, and Dr. Richardson is a wonderful doctor, I think one of the best in the country if not the world. And I think anybody should be very pleased to come and see Dr. Richardson and I fully recommend him to anyone.

I have been a patient here for a few years. And, I always feel very comfortable when I come in. They are very tender, and they have never ending care. And they're always a lot of fun, especially certain people. And, I don't worry about cataracts or anything because I know I'm in the best of hands.

I've been coming to the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates to see Dr. Richardson for many years. He's a very, very good doctor. He always helps me, and I trust him 100 percent. Now, I have decided to go through with the cataract removal. We called Dr. Richardson and the last test that I had found that I was losing some vision in my right eye, and he recommended I have the cataract removed so I can see more clearly. I want to do it because I know he will help me very, very well. I do recommend Dr. Richardson for anything that's related with your eyes, vision and he will help you very, very well. You will be very happy.

Dr. Richardson is my ophthalmologist. I do not know how to express adequately my appreciation and gratitude for having been treated so well from the first day I went to see him for a second opinion.
I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Richardson to anyone in need of an exceptional ophthalmologist. He is indeed among the best in his field.

San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates are unequivocally the very best!

Dr. David Richardson is an excellent ophthalmologist. A true professional dedicated to giving his patients the best of care. Eye exams are the most thorough I have ever had using the very latest in technology. He successfully performed laser iridotomy on both eyes. He is a very competent doctor I trust implicitly and respect. I would like to add that patientce and friendliness are admirable qualities in Dr. Richardson.

My name is Alva. I'm a patient here with Dr. Richardson, and I reside in Monterey Park. I have been a patient with Dr. Richardson for many, many years now. I can remember, on my first appointment with Dr. Richardson, he was such a nice guy and he had an easy personality that I really liked. And we just hit it off really, really good so I just stayed with Dr. Richardson. I have postherpetic neuralgia in my right eye, and I mentioned that to Dr. Richardson. I wanted him to keep an eye on it, so to speak, to see that I don't have any complications from it. He has been quite good in looking after it. And all of the exams are very thorough, and I really enjoy that.

Doctor Richardson removed cataracts and placed new and appropriate lenses in each of my eyes in two consecutive months. Each surgery was over in about ½ hour with incredible results! I had not been aware that I couldn’t see yellow (or that white wasn’t yellow). Don’t wast time! Do it now!
Before surgery I had to use a magnifying glass to read a newspaper or do my crossword puzzles. I had trouble seeing colors properly. Distance was blurry. Dr. Richardson and his staff are very amiable. Since surgery I can read papers, etc. with only my eyeglasses. I see colors well!

Before the surgery the cataracts had gotten pretty bad, coloration changes and the spots in the eyes were actually very, very blurry. Large spots, typical cataracts. After the surgery, it was like a miracle. The cataracts were completely gone, of course, with lens implants. My vision was like 20/40 when he was done, and it was instantaneous.
I've been coming here to this office well before 2004. I was a patient of Dr. Richardson's before that. He's done both eyes with cataracts, and he did a superb job, and he's been treating my eyes very well. I'm very comfortable with him and with the staff. I think they're a professional operation, as they should be, and very friendly and very confident.

I am happy to recommend Dr. Richardson. His staff is friendly and courteous. I like Dr. Richardson because he's very professional, but he's very easy to talk to, answers all questions. I'm always very happy to come here and pleased with the treatment I've had, the surgery that I've had, and I would be happy to recommend him to anyone who needs any eye care.

About 2 years ago, being in my neighbors house, I mentioned that I was looking for an eye doctor. My neighbor said, “Oh, I know of a good one, Dr. Richardson in San Gabriel.” There is where I met Dr. Kratz, his associated.
At that time I just had my cataract surgery in Germany on my right eye and I needed a follow up. Dr. Kratz found my eye in good condition and suggested to have the left eye done too. Again, I came to Dr. Kratz after surgery. I never met Dr. Richardson, but it he is as nice as Dr. Kratz, you will deal with two wonderful doctors. I liked the personal interest shown as that makes doctor’s visit feel much more pleasant.
The office is comfortable because of the size and being open for the pubic to observe the activity of the staff. It should also be mentioned that the staff are very courteous and easy to approach.

I have been coming to Dr. Richardson's office, and Dr. Pritchard's, for many years, and I really have great confidence in both of them!
My husband and I are both having our cataracts removed on the 21st of July. Dr. Richardson gave us a great CD to listen to at home, and it's beautiful. I told him, he should go into that business because he had such a wonderful voice, and it was so relaxing and very informative. I think everybody should come to him!
When I first met him, because I had heard about him, all my friends had come to him, he walked in the door and I said, "Oh, I thought you'd be older." He laughed and I said, "Well, I've heard about you for years." He's done 2, 000 cataract surgeries, so I feel very confident when I scheduled to have mine done.
I don't know of anything else to say other than all of his help is wonderful. He has Jonathan Hall, who is just fantastic! And Ken too! They’re so patient with older folk and they really do do a good job!

My first impression of the doctors and staff of the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates was very good right from the beginning and after 5 years remains so. The first time I went there I was in a great deal of pain, stressed out and scared to death and Drs. Richardson and Kratz immediately made me feel at ease and confident that I was in good hands. The staff has always been wonderful and made me feel like a real person, not just the ?next one!? They are always friendly, but professional.
To Dr. Richardson and Dr. Kratz, thank you. You got me through a rough time. To the staff, thank you all for being there too. I?ve been in medical offices where the staff was cold and distant and looked scruffy to boot, not good! You have not only been friendly and professional, but looked professional.

Hi. My name is Linda Squibb, a patient of Dr. Richardson's. I first met him about five weeks ago. I came to him because I was experiencing some floaters in my eye, and I wanted his opinion as an ophthalmologist on the floaters. So he came in to the exam room and introduced himself, a very pleasant man. He explained what he was going to do before looking in my eyes. Indeed he found the floaters, and we discussed that. He was very pleasant, very reassuring. He recommended that I have another test done on my eyes. I was a little anxious about that, but he put me at ease by saying, “not to worry, I will call you immediately with the results. I often don't. I often let the office call in a few days, but because I detect that you're anxious, I'll mark it on your chart to give you a call right away, to ease any apprehension you might be having."That just made a very big impression on me that he was willing to do that. So again, I just met him the one time but, he was very personable, approachable and I enjoyed our interaction, and I definitely would recommend anybody coming to him if they have any eye issues. I believe he's very well educated from what I've seen on his website, and would feel very comfortable recommending him!

Hello, my name is Robert Rajotte. I'm a very satisfied customer! Dr. Richardson did a wonderful job on my eye. Let me tell you a little story. I've had glasses probably for the last ten years and my optometrist discovered I had high pressure in my right eye. He suggested that I seek treatment for this. Of course, being a guy I ignored it for a couple of years. It spiked a little higher, and finally I went to my mother's doctor, which happens to be Dr. Richardson. And my mother also, of course, is happy with his services.
But a long story short. We had laser surgery that brought the pressures down. It's called Argon Laser Trabeculectomy and it was painless. It was a five minute procedure, and my pressures are perfect. Well, I had a secondary problem. My right eye needed a much greater correction than my left, which I believe is called anisometropia. I've learned a lot, as you can see also, through this process.
Anyway, with some consultations with Dr. Richardson, he suggested I probably could use an intraocular lens implant and I ended up with a toric lens, which also corrected my astigmatism. Long story short, the lens was implanted and everything went well.
Three to four weeks after surgery, you go get your other glasses. My optometrist looked at the correction I had after Dr. Richardson had done, and he stopped. He paused, and he was baffled and he says, "This guy's good!" He said it three times. "This guy's good! You have almost no astigmatism. We'll call it zero. You're barely near sighted. Your eye is like perfect, and your pressures are perfect." All testimony to Dr. Richardson's skill and education, and I recommend him to anybody. Come here!
I was satisfied, and I'm sure you will be. He's professional. He's got the steadiest hands I've ever seen in a human, and when he touches your eye, it's unbelievable. He's a gifted surgeon, and I recommend you come to see Dr. Richardson. Robert Rajotte pleased customer.

Before cataract surgery I could not drive at night. I felt I could not even drive during the day. I could not see where I was going when I skied and I could not follow my golf ball! I could not read books or the newspaper anymore. Four doctors told me because I had laser surgery, they would not operate. Dr. Richardson said that although it was difficult, he thought he would have a good outcome.
My experience working with Dr. Richardson and his staff was very professional. They are very thorough. He did not make promises, but rather was conservative in his outcome. Ana, his assistant, was very thorough and it helped to have everything in writing as well as being told all the procedures to follow.
After having cataract surgery, I can now do all of the things mentioned before. My life is normal again! My vision is 20/25 distance and 20/15 up close. The cataract audio CD that Dr. Richardson provided was very informative.- Pamela Worden

Before cataract surgery I was having difficulty spotting airplanes flying over, seeing road signs at dusk and night, and reading in dim lighting. My experience with Dr. Richardson and h is staff was extremely good! I can’t believe how great my vision has improved since cataract surgery. Everything looks better. Colors are brighter and all the problems I had before are gone.
All the doctors and staff are very professional and friendly. My wife and I are completely satisfied with their service. I trust them all! I was so happy with the results and my experience was very positive both with Dr. Richardson and his staff. - John Button

Hi, I'm Patricia Medina. I've been coming to Dr. Richardson's for numerous years. I originally was referred to by my mother, who's been coming here 10 years and because of her care, that Dr. Richardson has given her, I knew I would be in capable hands. He has taken very good care of me. I'm diabetic so he does all of the necessary tests to take care of my eyes. I've been very, very happy with all the staff and with Dr. Richardson and hope to continue to be his patient for many more years and continue with the care that I'm receiving from him.

I found your office back in the 1970s when Dr. Schiff was there. A friend of the family recommended him since we needed a 2nd opinion for my mother, who needed cataract surgery. Surgery was preferred plus another surgery to cover the corneas since she had skin cancer on her face. The doctor and staff treated her very nice and with patience. Her state of health was quite delicate. Within years I became a patient due to glaucoma and my aunt also became a patient. To this day we have Dr. Pritchard as our optometrist.
The office is nice and quite- this sometimes helps since a person may be nervous either waiting for their results, surgery might be needed, or for any other eye problem. In my care, a quiet office makes me feel more at ease. Doctors & staff are nice, friendly, courteous, and very professional. My aunt and I are pleased to have Dr. Richardson and his staff. They are very thorough with eye exams or for any other eye problems. I recommend them very highly! - Virginia

Hello. I'm Antonia Medina. I was recommended to come here from Dr. Thompson, and I've been here over 10 years. Dr. Richardson is a very good doctor and his assistant, Jonathan, is always very patient with me. The staff here is very nice. I'm very happy with the care they've given me since I've been here. I'm very glad I'm here, because I'm getting to that age where my eyes are getting worse. But they take care of me very well.

And I would highly recommend Dr. Richardson and the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates, which I have done many times, for eye care. I just have enjoyed the service I've had here. I can't speak enough good things about it. I've been very pleased with everything that I've had here. So, I'm glad to put my name on this signature, and I would suggest anyone that has a problem with vision to please come see the specialists here. They're great people!

I just want to say how much I admire Dr. Richardson for his efficiency and his friendliness. I had gone to another doctor about four years ago and discovered I had cataracts. He wanted to operate for my cataracts immediately, but another friend of mine who comes here said, ‘Go to Dr. Richardson and get a second opinion.’ Dr. Richardson told me, ‘Your cataracts can wait. You have glaucoma.’ The other doctor never said anything about that I could have gone blind! And I've been coming to Dr. Richardson ever since. He discovered that I had an infection in my eye and he immediately took care of that. I have never been so taken care of, and my sight is good. I'm 86 years old and believe me, if it wasn't for Dr. Richardson I'd have been blind today. - Rosalyn Rhine

Hello, my name is Louis Ramirez. I am a patient of San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates. I've been here for several years. I'm under the medical attention of Dr. Richardson, along with Dr. Kratz and other associates. I have found the service here, the attention to all my eye needs, to be extremely exceptional and I recommend this facility and the services here immensely to those who are seeking an ophthalmologist for all your eye care needs. Everyone from the front staff to the billing is extremely professional and I look forward to many more years of being cared for here at the San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates.

I've been a patient of Dr. Richardson's for several years now. And I have had both eyes operated on by him for cataracts, and it's been a most enjoyable procedure - very simple. He explains everything very, very well. And the outpatient surgery downstairs, everybody was very nice. It was just a very simple procedure and very well orchestrated. I appreciate Dr. Richardson and the work he's put in to make this a very smooth operation. And I appreciate the whole office. Everybody's very nice. I'm very happy to be a patient here.- Alice

I've been a patient of Dr. Richardson for probably five or six years, and I love the guy. I give him a hug every time I see him. He has helped me so much with my eyesight, and he's given me confidence, and really the whole staff is very good. Jonathan is a dear. I met Dr. Kratz through bringing a friend here. She's a 96-year-old lady, and he's been so nice to her and just a dear. And also, I have to mention Dr. Pritchard, because I thought I wasn't going to be able to pass a drivers test, and I came back about three weeks after he saw me one time, and asked him to look in my eyes again to make sure they were all right. And he reassured me.
So, I really enjoy and would highly recommend any of Dr. Richardson's San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates. They're all good people, and I can hug them all. - Joan McFadden

I've been with Doctor Richardson since he first came to San Gabriel Valley Eye Associates. That was several years ago. He has been taking care of my eyes ever since, and I think he's done an excellent job. My problem has been a few things. Glaucoma, for one, and he's been on the cutting edge of treatment. Aside from the staff, which I think is the best staff of any of the doctors I've been to in many years. He, himself, has shown a remarkable interest in my own welfare. He's very personable and easy to talk with. He volunteers information that he thinks is pertinent to me in the treatment of my eyes and he follows through with it. I greatly appreciate Doctor Richardson and his staff, very much. I recommend him highly to anyone and I have to many people already! - Walter Haddock

My doctor is Dr. Richardson. Because my family, my brother and my two sisters, have glaucoma, I come three to four times a year. Fortunately, I have not obtained glaucoma and of course, they are very upset with me, because I am the oldest and I keep telling them that I took all the good genes. So here I am today, with another perfect record, and I can go back and phone them and tell them that I am still the best of the family. But in all other regards, after coming for many, many, many years, you couldn't ask for a better group of doctors. And Dr. Richardson is outstanding, so please take the time to investigate. But on my say so, you couldn't ask for anyplace any better to come to. -Jean Kilmer

When I discovered that I would need cataract surgery, I heard about Dr. Richardson's great reputation, and I decided that I wanted him to perform the surgery. Even though he was not a provider in my insurance company and this would mean that I would have to pay for the surgery out of my own pocket. I am very glad I made that choice. It was an excellent choice. Dr. Richardson recommended for me Crystalens®, which I think are just excellent because you can focus in a distance, intermediate, and close without having to use glasses. And since I inherited my mother's extreme myopia, I was getting more and more nearsighted as a child. And with the Crystalens® the nearsightedness is gone. So, I have better vision now than I had when I was a child.
One of the things that impressed me so much about the surgery was the pleasantness of it. The San Gabriel Ambulatory Surgery Center is outstanding. The preparation for the surgery was wonderful. And the surgery itself, and afterwards, was a very good experience. In fact, during the surgery, they played Mozart Concertos. I love Mozart and the experience I had in surgery was more like attending a concert than being in surgery. So this is a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend -Ron Clapper

I just celebrated my 93rd birthday, and I've been a patient of Dr. Richardson for 10 years, and I have had excellent care. I have had glaucoma, and I am a diabetic, which a person has to be very careful of their eyesight. I'm doing really well, and my vision is normal, which I think is a great accomplishment to keep me going. All of Dr. Richardson's staff has been very kind and very good. Dr. Richardson is a fine doctor. He is very kind, and takes good care of his patients. I'm sure if it wasn't for Dr. Richardson, my vision would not be as good as it is today, and especially at my age. I still have a license to drive my car, which I wouldn't have got otherwise. I certainly recommend him to anyone that needs help with an eye problem.

My name is John and about 40 years ago I had an occlusion of the central retinal vein of my right eye. I have had the greatest fortune and greatest luck with Dr. Richardson in all my eye care. He tells me when to go ahead with treatment. He suggests alternate sources of service and sometimes, he says, ‘No. Don't do that.’
I think he is fantastic. I will continue to come to him for as long as he wants me and I think that Dr. Richardson is fantastic in taking care of my diminished visual acuity, especially when it comes to DMV forms.
This is a wonderful experience coming here and I cannot recommend it strongly enough. I think the office staff is fantastic. They are equipped, they are on time but they are flexible. It's great!”

I've been a patient with Dr. Richardson for twenty some years. I've always found the staff and Dr. Richardson to be very friendly, very professional, and very accommodating if you have to change your schedule or something. Dr. Richardson gave me two surgeries for cataracts and it opened up a whole new world for me. The surgery was very successful and everyone was friendly and helpful. I also have glaucoma and Dr. Richardson has been very faithful to keep me informed. I’ve always been nervous about that white coat syndrome, but I don’t feel that here. Everyone is great; they put you at ease and make you feel comfortable. I really appreciate the whole attitude of the staff and everything they do. So I would highly recommend Dr. Richardson and his staff to anyone. To put it shortly, I would say they are a cut above the rest. - Opal
