Minnesota Appliance Rebate
With the Federal government’s push for a greener environment and energy savings, Minnesota’s new rebate program for energy-efficient appliances starts today, March 1, 2010. Many local stores are expecting a flood of customers to cash in on replacing their old appliances with newer more energy-efficient ones.
The Minnesota Appliance Rebate Program is funded with more than $5 million in federal stimulus funds, and will enable more than 25,000 Minnesota households to receive up to $200 for replacing certain appliances with energy-efficient models. It provides $200 for a clothes washer, $150 for a dishwasher, up to $100 for a freezer, and up to $200 for a refrigerator. People must go online or call starting today to sign up to participate.
The program is expected to save an annual amount of more than 2.2 million kilowatt hours of energy, nearly 44 million gallons of water and more than 4.7 million pounds of carbon. To reserve your rebate, go to www.mnappliancerebate.com or call (877) 230-9119 today.
