Walgreens to Buy Duane Reade

I guess the retail and drugstore market is growing at our healthcare expense. Walgreens plans to acquire New York-based drugstore chain Duane Reade at a reported value of $1.075 Billion.

Duane Reade has 257 stores located in the New York City metropolitan area, and Walgreens is expected to gain leadership position in the nation’s largest retail and drugstore market. I guess this will expand Walgreens retail clinic called Take Care Clinic and cash on the burgeoning and profitable rise of retail clinics or so-called McMedicine.
