Dominick Dunne Dead of Bladder Cancer

You might have watched one of Dominick Dunne’s weekly crime shows on Court TV, called “Power, Privilege and Justice” in the past. The Best-selling author and journalist Dominick Dunne died Wednesday at age 83 after a battle with bladder cancer.

Bladder cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in your bladder, a balloon-shaped organ in your pelvic area that stores urine. Bladder cancer begins most often in the cells that line the inside of the bladder. The wall of the bladder is lined with cells called transitional cells and squamous cells. More than 90 percent of bladder cancers begin in the transitional cells. This type of bladder cancer is called transitional cell carcinoma. About 8 percent of bladder cancer patients have squamous cell carcinomas.
