Ask your doctor for the following tests for food allergies like a reaction to gluten:

  • Gliadin IgA testing (available from most major labs)
  • Total IgA plus tissue Transglutaminase IgA (tTIgA) test pair (available from most major labs)
  • ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) method IgG and IgE testing for gluten or the entire grain (wheat, barley, spelt, kamut, rye, etc.)
  • Mediator Release Testing (MRT) can uncover all non-IgE immune reactions you might be experiencing from foods and food chemicals.

Some of these tests may not be readily available.
