Electronic Medical Records Systems

Part of the newly passed economic stimulus package, as much as roughly $21 billion is devoted to e-health records. The goal of modernizing our health care system by 2014, once a long shot goal, may be attainable with the new health care funding.

For doctors who are still waiting on the side lines, you may want to jump in now and cash in on the potential benefits. For one, doctors would qualify for about $40,000 over several years if they adopt electronic medical records systems, which for many small doctor offices is no small amount, and could be enough to adopt e-records with no additional costs. If you haven’t adopted electronic medical records, there is no better time to do so. I say, take off your white coat and jump right in. You will surely love the productivity gains, and perhaps the extra cash too.
