Medical Tourism Hospitals

Over the weekend, while spending time with my friend from Malaysia at a Vietnamese restaurant, we talked about their health care system, and the topic of medical tourism came up. Some of their hospitals seem like 5-star hotels, with a personal nurse, and even with all that attentive care, the costs are still less than 50 percent of similar medical procedures in the United States. That is including the airfare, and other transportation costs!

What you may not know is that the medical tourism industry is expected to grow to $100 billion in 2010, and is poised for even more rapid expansion in the future. That is one hundred ba-hillion!! That is a huge number, so be prepared for more overseas medical treatment plus an added vacation for surgery, dentistry, bone-marrow transplant, kidney dialysis, organ transplantation or cancer therapy.
