This is the age of consumer-directed healthcare, basically taking control of ones healthcare and patient satisfaction. However, that comes with a cost, as in higher health insurance deductibles.

According to the survey by the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research & Educational Trust, the average premium for a family’s health insurance provided by an employer rose to $12,680. $3,354 of that was covered by employees on average, and 18 percent had a deductible of at least $1,000, up from 12 percent the previous year. Additional you are paying more of your health insurance than before with an average increase of 5 percent in health insurance premiums this year.
