Diabetes is a major health problem in America today, and in an earlier posting I mentioned that diabetes in America has now reached 24 million. Here are some information on what insulin does courtesy of the National Diabetes Education Program.

  • Regulates Amount of Sugar in Blood
  • Gives body cells energy by opening a channel into cell, where glucose (sugar) and other food molecules can be absorbed from the blood stream and burned to provide energy
