Did a vaccine additive lead thousands of children to become autistic? Well, that is the question that the United States Court of Federal Claims has to ponder.

Thimerosal was removed from all routinely administered childhood vaccines by 2001, and has shown no effect on autism rates. So did vaccines containing thimerosal make children more autistic? Even though every major study and scientific organization to examine the issue indicates that there is no link between vaccination and autism.

The issue is that some parents believe that thimerosal, a preservative that contains mercury, damaged their children’s brains, which in turn led to autism.
