Well, you have probably heard that tilting your head back will treat nosebleeds, but sorry to say, that is wrong. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the best way to treat a nosebleed is to sit down, lean forward and keep your head above your heart, which lessens the bleeding. The AAFP indicate that leaning forward also helps drain the blood from the nose and keeps it from the esophagus.
