Today, April 25, 2008 marks the first World Malaria Day. Today highlights the roughly 1 million deaths that are attributed to malaria worldwide, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa. Most of those deaths are young children, and even with vaccines to prevent malaria, it has not been eliminated.
