Medical Tourism

Medical tourism is on the rise with the rising costs of medical procedures in the U.S. Patients can now get procedures done at a fraction of the costs in the U.S., and that is not just relegated to the roughly 47 million people without health insurance. Even those with health insurance sometimes have to pay a hefty portion, say 20%, and boy 20% of $50,000 is still $10,000 and that alone is expensive to most middle-class Americans.

When you can pay less than that for a major procedure, and get attentive service from your doctor, and relax in a hotel-like hospital, no wonder more and more people are taking that option. Look for your insurance company to give you that option soon. It is a matter of business for those health insurance companies, and it may just be what your company ordered. No more “Mother may I” medicine anymore. You take control of your patient satisfaction in a consumer-driven healthcare system. Places like Bumrungrad Hospital in Thailand will be pleased to have your healthcare business, with a smile too.
