Heart Surgery

I don’t know if you would want a robot working on your heart:

Researchers in Britain are developing a medical robot which can work out the intentions of a surgeon performing an operation, making surgery easier and more precise. I suppose it will be an intelligent robot using artificial intelligence.

If you are wondering why they are giving the robot more control, the goal is to have less invasive surgeries and shorter recovery times for procedures such as cardiac bypass surgery or tumor removal. Computer scientist Professor Guang Zhong Yang, of the Hamlyn centre for robotic surgery at Imperial College London, said: “We want to empower the robot and make it more autonomous.”
