Why climate change poses challenge to preventive medicine:

Global Warming

This opinion reflected by Alan H. Lockwood, M.D., a professor of neurology and nuclear medicine at the University at Buffalo, reflects a physicians approach to the global warming issue.

As we know, Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” and the scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, describe the major adverse health effects of global warming. Dr. Lockwood explains that “unmitigated global warming will cause death and disease on a vast scale. The dramatic images of melting glaciers and polar ice translate into flooded cities, rising temperatures, drought, crop failure, famine and epidemics of dengue, malaria and other diseases.”
