100 Mile Diet

When I found out about this diet, at first I thought it was another weight loss diet emphasizing walking a 100 miles over a short period of time. However, I was wrong. It is not actually another weight loss diet, but it is all about where your food comes from. To be precise, it is eating food that comes from areas within your 100 mile radius. That may be a good idea if you can find a local farm, and bear in mind that food in North America typically travels 1,500 miles from farm to plate. By following the 100 mile diet, you get to support local farmers and live more in harmony with natural systems.

People may be afraid of the term activist because they associate it with extremism but I’m talking about normal citizens who want the government to live up to its obligation to protect our air, water, and all other natural resources.
