Menactra and Teenagers

Just wondering if parents out there are aware of the fairly new vaccine out called Menactra? This vaccine treats mennigococcal bacteria which can cause a very deadly form of meningitis. This type of meningitis is most prevalent in the teenage population, primarily college students living in close quarters. This infection is quite rare but if contracted could cause many serious problems and at worse, death. Presently, it is not required for lower school admission but I think most colleges are starting to require it. I recently had my kids immunized and I’m very glad.
