I would say it depends on what stage your tonsil cancer is at. Early stage tonsil cancer can often be treated with surgery or radiation. Later stage cancers may require a combination of radiation, chemotherapy and/or surgery. You may need multiple specialists to recommend a personalized treatment plan for your tonsil cancer. Your specialist team may include otorhinolaryngologists (ear, nose and throat specialists), oral and maxillofacial surgeons, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists.
